About this policy

This policy describes how ReadStride handles information when you read and manage your personal library. For privacy questions, contact [email protected].

Information stored on your device

ReadStride stores books and text you import or create, book metadata and covers, reading positions, bookmarks, highlights, reading time and daily goals, and app preferences. This information is used to provide your library, resume reading, display reading statistics and remember your settings. No account is required.

Collection, sharing and tracking

The current version does not send your library or reading activity to the developer. It does not include advertising, behavioral tracking or third-party analytics. We do not sell your personal information. The app does not request access to your contacts, location, microphone or camera.

Files, clipboard and backups

You choose which files to import using the system file picker. Clipboard text is read when you choose to paste it. Backups you export are written to the destination you select; that destination or sharing service handles the exported data under its own policies. Your operating system or browser may include app data in backups according to your settings.

Storage and security

The native app stores library data in local app storage; the web version uses browser storage. Device and browser access controls protect that storage. Local storage and exported backups are not guaranteed to remain available, and exported files should be kept in a safe place. We do not promise additional end-to-end encryption.

Retention and deletion

Your data remains locally until you delete it or clear app storage. You can remove a book from its Book details menu, which also removes its saved bookmarks and highlights. To remove all locally stored data, clear the app’s storage using your device or browser controls. Uninstalling the app normally removes local app data, but operating-system backups and exported files may remain; manage or delete those separately. The developer cannot access or delete copies stored only on your device.

Children

ReadStride does not require age information or knowingly collect children’s personal information on a server. If you have a concern about a child’s use of the app, contact us at the address below.

Changes and contact

If ReadStride’s data practices change, we will update this policy and its date, and request permission where required. Privacy requests and questions: [email protected].
